Since before the opening of the Wakefield Hospice in 1990 the Rotary Club of Wakefield has been assisting in many different ways. This page describes some of our more recent contributions.

Cheque presentation to Helen Knowles of the Wakefield Hospice in June 2008RAFFLE PRIZE

The club handed over 1,775 to Wakefield Hospice in June 2008, the proceeds of a raffle run in conjunction with the club's final gala at Clarence Park in 2007.

The hospice's director of fundraising, Helen Knowles, is seen here receiving the cheque from club president Peter Gallivan (left) and ways and means chairman Richard Edge.

10k RUN

This is a major fund raising event for Wakefield Hospice each spring. 2008 was no exception when there was a record entry.

Rotarians from this club volunteer to take charge of car parking arrangements each year in order to help ensure that there are no delays and runners can get to the starting point on time. In 2009 we are providing 12 marshals for the event.
